Community Involvement

Iles Funeral Homes is a local family owned company.  As such we have a vested interest in each of the communities we serve, because we live here too.  We offer our time, talent and resources to many organizations.  Here are a few of the things we are involved with.

Community Education

Our director of community education, Patricia Adams Oberbillig, draws from her own education and experience to develop educational seminars and in-services for hospice staffs, nursing home staffs, parish nurses, hospital chaplains, local clergy, and congregational care teams.  Pat’s passions include teaching others to care for the dying and their families with dignity and grace; another is helping caregivers learn to care for themselves.

Religious Organizations

We have a large and diverse staff that are involved with many churches, synagogues and religious groups.  We support these institutions in a variety of ways.  In addition to individual churches, we also support larger organizations that help the community at large.  These include Knights of Columbus, Serra Club, Jewish Federation of Greater Des Moines, Iowa Jewish Senior Life Center, Dowling Catholic High School, and Bishop Drumm Care Center.
