Obituary

A memorial graveside service honoring the lives of Wesley and Marjorie Baie, Jr. of Des Moines will be held at 2pm, Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.

Wesley Lee Baie, Jr., 94, passed away on January 3, 2017 at Arbor Springs in West Des Moines and Marjorie Mae (Warrick) Baie, 90, passed away on February 17, 2015 at Arbor Springs.

Wesley L. Baie, Jr. was born December 22, 1922, in Des Moines, to Wesley Lee and Mary Elizabeth (Liddle) Baie, Sr. He had three siblings, Richard and Charles Baie and Mary Dee (Baie) Hutton. Wesley graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1941, and worked at Fred Keating Coal Company from Jan. 1941 - Sept. 1941. He joined the US Army in Sept. 1941 where he served faithfully until Nov. 1945. He then returned home and attended Iowa State College (Nov. 1945 - Dec. 1946) and American Institute of Business (Dec. 1946 - Mar. 1948), where he received his BS Degree. Following his honorable discharge in 1945 from the US Army he joined the Iowa National Guard where he served until he retired as a Lt. Colonel in Dec.1982. He also worked as an accountant for John Deere, from 1948 until his retirement in 1984.

Marjorie Mae Warrick was born June 18, 1924, in Warren, Iowa, to Everett Warrick and Margaret (Van Haaf) Warrick. She was united in marriage to Welsey on
June 15, 1946.

Wesley and Marjorie are survived by, grandson, Tenny John (Baie) Cassese of Broken Arrow, OK; great granddaughter, Isabela Rose Mandujano-Cassese; nephew, Larry Wymore of Cedar Falls, IA; Rosa A. Mandujano of Tulsa and Theresa B. Cassese of Cleveland, OH, as well as other nephews and nieces and their families. They were preceded in death by their son, Dennis Eugene Baie.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Arbor Springs for their care and support of Marjorie and Wesley during their stay there; to Larry Wymore and attorney, Scott Riemenschneider for taking care of many personal matters for Marjorie and Wesley and to Iles Funeral Homes for their care.
