Alberta Spurlin Obituary

Alberta M. Spurlin,99, died Friday, October 3, 2025, at the Madrid Home. A Graveside Service will be held at 11 am on Friday, October 10, 2025, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Fort Dodge.

Alberta was born February 26, 1926, in Whittemore, Iowa, to Jake and Ursla (Wiwi) Loring. She married James Spurlin in 1944. They resided in Fort Dodge, Iowa, and together they had three kids. Alberta loved taking care of her family. She worked as a salesperson at Three Sisters and Boston clothing stores in Fort Dodge. She enjoyed cooking, dancing, especially the Jitterbug, coloring with pencils, and playing Bingo.

Survivors include her daughters: Colleen (Gary) Books, Bonnie Patterson; grandchildren: Shannon (Anastacia) Books, Jason (Beth) Books, Cindy (Derek) Bowen, Tim (Guddu) Johnson, Brian Johnson; great grandchildren: Michael Books, Shelby Books, Kylie Bowen, Brady Bowen, Micaela Books, Courtney Hill, Diesel Johnson, Dozer Johnson, Reece Johnson, Summar Johnson; and several great-great grandchildren; brothers: Larry (Jean) Loring, Frank Loring; sister, Elizabeth Reinders; many nieces and nephews.

Alberta was preceded in death by her husband, son, parents, and several siblings.
