Amanda Hudson Obituary

Amanda “Mimi” Hudson, 45, passed away at home on December 26, 2023. Amanda was born December 16, 1978 in Jefferson, Iowa.

Amanda “Mimi” started doing child care in 2011 and naturally adopted the title of a “mom to many”. Amanda provided unconditional love for every family she cared for, many of them staying with her as long as their children could. Amanda loved each of them with all of her heart. It brought her great joy to hear their silly giggles every day, and to see the children all bond as a family.

Amanda always gave love to the world and those around her. She took pride in her care of her many plants, her dog, Oliver and the incredible families she met throughout her years as a daycare provider. Family was one of the most important things to Amanda. She always provided a place to feel her immense amounts of love with open arms towards any friend, child, niece, nephew or sibling.

Amanda is survived by her siblings, Brian, Sidney, Jodi and Erin; father, Jeff; mother, Kathi and many nieces, nephews, cousins and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Orval and Isabelle; her fiancé and a sister, Tiffany.

A gathering for friends and family will be held from 6-8pm, Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Iles Westover Chapel, 6337 Hickman Road, Des Moines, Iowa 50322.
