Amelia passed away on February 16, 2008 in Vancouver, WA at the age of 97. She was born in Kansas City, MO to Levert and Flora Aulgur and raised in Des Moines, IA. She moved to Vancouver after the death of her husband Percy J. Harvey in 1980.

While in Des Moines, she was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), and Daughters of Union Veterans (DUV). She was a loving and devoted mother who spent many hours with the Cub Scouts as a Den Mother. In her latter years, she enjoyed playing the organ and painting. She loved attending to her flower garden, especially her many roses. Her trips to the beaches of Oregon and Washington were filled with feeding the sea gulls, wave watching and shopping.

She is survived by her two sons; J. Edward Harvey of Vancouver, WA and James R. Harvey of Hampton, VA; six grandchildren; Sherri Weiser, Lorri Dunn and Cindy Henifin, all of Vancouver, Saundra Harvey, Beth Harvey of Hampton and Jenifer Rawlings of Colorado Springs, CO; eight great grandchildren; Anndrea Dunn, Christopher Kalani, Tyler Kalani, Torey Dunn, Brandon, Ryan and Logan Henifin of Vancouver, and James Whitten of Hampton.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, March 11, at the Masonic Cemetery in Des Moines. Arrangements are under the care of Westover Funeral Home.
