Faye Ann Swartz, 72, died Monday, November 21, 2022 at her home in Leon, Iowa surrounded by her loving and attentive family. Ann was born August 17, 1950 in Bethany, Missouri to Charles Eugene & Norma Cleora (Ward) Briggs.

Survivors include husband Rick, daughters Angela Gallegos & Jennifer Hayes, son Brad (Amber) Swartz, granddaughters Camille Cole, Emily Hayes, Rachel Gallegos, Kat Gallegos, Kaydee Swartz, & Bianca Swartz, grandson Tate Swartz, great granddaughter Mercy Cole, mother Cleora Briggs, sisters Jeanne (Greg) Cracraft, Peggy (Stuart) Slatten, Ginger Bennett, brother Jack (Linda) Briggs, and sister in law Sheila Langfitt.

Preceding her in death was her father Charles Briggs, father in law Wilbur Swartz, mother in law Bonnie Swartz, and great grandson Weston Swartz.

Ann was a very humble and amazing woman. The word ‘pride’ would describe her best. She was no nonsense, don’t just talk about it, do it. She was proud to be who she was. Wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, business partner, faithful Calvary Baptist Church member (over 50 years), family cheerleader, and Leon community member.

Traveling around the world and attending her grandchildren’s activities consumed her time when not working with Rick at Plaza Furniture. Dusting and vacuuming could wait till another day, attending sporting events (with camera) took precedence. Passing out Bibles in China & Russia was pretty gutsy, and she made it back home to tell the story.

Ann’s family and friends remember her smiling. She sacrificed her needs for those of family and friends. Her guiding light was Jesus which she shared on mission trips, Sunday school, summer bible school, and the ladies bible study. It never hurt that she was an excellent cook with prize winning dinner rolls, and cinnamon rolls devoured by immediate and church family.

Ann’s family will greet friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Friday, November 25, 2022, Calvary Baptist Church, 1302 Poplar Street, Leon, Iowa 50144. Her funeral service will be 10:00am the next day, Saturday, November 26, 2022 at the church. Burial will follow at Leon Cemetery, then lunch back at church.

Memorials may be directed to EveryStep Hospice in Mount Ayr, Iowa.
