Obituary

Annabelle Cameron Ross passed away on March 18, 2025 at her home surrounded by loved ones with wonderful support from hospice. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel United Methodist Church, with a luncheon after the service. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery.

Anne was the fifth child born to Charles and Nellie (Patton) Cameron; born on December 19, 1936 in Winterset, Iowa. She graduated from Macksburg High School, where she excelled in basketball, volleyball, and softball. Following high school, she briefly worked at Employers Mutual Insurance Company in Des Moines.

She married Donald (Don) Ross on July 21, 1957 at Macksburg Methodist Church. Anne was a homemaker, raising three daughters. She took great pride in holding her family close. Many dinners were hosted by Anne, and she was known for serving too much great food. She also enjoyed vacations with her family each summer, traveling to Okoboji, The Ozarks, Florida, and a fun filled cruise to the Bahamas.

As a long-time member of Immanuel Methodist Church, she devoted her life to making the lives of others tremendously fun. She treasured a multitude of activities with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as traveling with Don and her many friends. Destinations included England, Canada, Mexico, many Caribbean islands, Alaska, Hawaii, and throughout the United States.

Those left to cherish Anne’s memory include her loving husband, Don; three daughters, Kim (Kurt) Katch, Pam Lender, and Sue (Ron) Stephan; six grandchildren, Ashley (Kris) Dunn, Lauren (Vaugn) Miller, Grace Lender, Ava Lender, Ben (Jess) Hinds, and Nicole Hinds; great grandchildren, Annabelle, Jack, and William Dunn, Evan, Quinn, and Joslyn Miller, Ross and Otto Hinds, and Keymani Tucker; and siblings Ora Austin and Janet Cameron. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Raymond and Richard Cameron; sisters-in-law Margaret Peterson, Judy Cameron, and Carol Nahas; brothers-in-law Merle Blair, Lee Austin, and Dick Nahas; and son-in-law Ken Hinds.

Arrangements by Iles Westover Chapel.
