Arlene Nesler, 79, formerly of Des Moines, began her heavenly journey April 30, 2007. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 12, 2007, at 1:00 at Glen Echo Christian Church. Visitation will be at 11:30 on Saturday, May 12, 2007, at Glen Echo Christian Church.

Arlene was born June 3, 1927, in LaCrosse, WI, to Thomas and Alice (Cox) Conniff. On March 5, 1949, she married Earl William Nesler. They resided in LaCrosse, WI, before moving to Carlisle, IA, where they raised their four loving children. Upon her husband’s passing in 1975, Arlene moved back to LaCrosse for a couple of years, then to Des Moines and finally to Harrisburg, OR.

The employment Arlene was most passionate about were the years she was blessed to be a home health aide. She sat with elderly people in their homes and cared for them. She derived much joy from this. She also enjoyed employment with the Target store before health conditions limited her working conditions.

Arlene loved her family and would have done anything for them as she would have anyone she met. She had an enormous heart full of love for all. She enjoyed nature and watching animals.

Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers; Thomas Jr., Gerald, Sidney (Sammy), and Ronald.

Arlene is survived by her daughters, Kimberly Nesler of Harrisburg, OR, and Patty Tilton of Des Moines and her children, Brian, Keith, and Scott Tilton; and sons, Jeff (Joan) Nesler and their children Christopher, Jennifer, Shawn, and Charles of Harrisburg, OR; and Randy (Bonnie) Nesler of Hartford, IA, and their children, Stephen, Shannah, and Matthew. Arlene is also survived by two great grandchildren, Logan Tilton and Jacob Belcher; as well as two sisters, Marvella (William) Wagner of LaCrosse, WI, and Gertrude (Waylon) Waldron of LaCrosse, WI.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
