Audrey Tesdell Fry Obituary

Audrey E. Tesdell Fry, 101, passed away peacefully at her home on December 27, 2023. She was born March 8, 1922 in Van Meter, Iowa to Orie and Emma Thomas and raised in Carlisle, Iowa.

Audrey married Severt Tesdell and to that union two sons, Erik and Leif were born. Severt passed in 1996 and she later married William “Jack” Fry.

Audrey worked as a registered nurse at Iowa Lutheran Hospital as a floor nurse. She enjoyed playing basketball in high school and watching ever since. Audrey was an avid bridge player and enjoyed planting flowers every spring.

Audry is survived by her children, Erik Tesdell, Leif (Fiancé Jeanine Killion) Tesdell; grandchildren, Brandon Tesdell, Logan Tesdell; 4 great grandchildren; and nieces. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband’s, Severt Tesdell & Jack Fry; sister, Vivian.

Visitation will be 9 AM - 10 AM Tuesday, January 2, 2023 at Iles Westover Chapel, 6337 Hickman Road, Des Moines, with service starting at 10 AM and burial to follow in Bethlehem Cemetery in Slater, Iowa.
