Audrey Johnson Obituary

Audrey Mae Johnson, 89, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at Calvin Community in Des Moines. A private family memorial service will take place in the future.

Audrey was born May 4, 1932, in Hospers, IA, to Harold and Alma (Idso) Johnson.

Audrey worked as an Elementary Teacher for many years in Des Moines.

For many years she ran the gift shop at Lutheran Hospital and was very well known there. She enjoyed working at the Civic Center as an usher. Audrey was active in her church and remained active even in recent years through the quilting group. She was a collector of and loved her giraffes, but her grandchildren were her whole life.

Audrey is survived by her son, Greg (Melissa) Wobken of Council Bluffs, IA; daughter, Beth (Dean) Schrader of Fairfax, IA; grandchildren, Allison Wobken (Chris Walton), Tyler (Amanda) Wobken, Austin Schrader, Caitlin Schrader; great-grandchildren, Hayden Turner, Maddie Walton, Hallie Walton, and CJ Walton. She was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings.
