Billie Ann Norris, 95, of Des Moines went home peacefully family by her side, Monday, September 5, 2022.

Born in Denison, Iowa on February 21, 1924 to Thomas and Helen (Birkhofer) Albert. Billie Ann graduated from Denison High School. She received her Associates Degree from AIB in Des Moines. Joined in marriage February 23, 1947 to Harry Norris (Adel, Iowa), they were blessed with seventy years.

Billie raised her children with Harry in Storm Lake, Iowa. She was active in their church serving her Lord. Billie’s love of reading was a perfect fit for her career with the Storm Lake Pilot Tribune. In 1968 Billie and Harry moved to Iowa City. Billie worked for ACT until her retirement in 1989.

Billie found great pleasure in spending time with her family traveling all over the United States supporting their grandchildren. Trips to Colorado, Florida, Minnesota and Missouri were especially memorable. Oh can’t forget she loved the Black and Gold.

Billie Ann is survived by her children, Louise A. Monroe (Jim), Linda K. Nockler (Peter- deceased) and Harold H. Norris Jr (Jeannie), eight grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, and dear niece, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service is set for Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at 1:00 pm at the MDRC Bridge Campus, 10025 NW 62nd Ave., Johnston, IA, 50131. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Suncrest Hospice and Home Instead.
