Obituary

Bonnie Jean Mohling passed away Saturday, May 2, 2015, at Kennybrook Village in Grimes, Iowa. She was born September 1, 1946, in Imperial, NE, the daughter of Henry and Leah Wicke.

Bonnie grew up in Wauneta, NE, received her bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln and worked as a teacher before becoming a parent. While residing in Nebraska, she was a farm wife, Sunday school teacher, and teachers-aid.

Bonnie moved to Arizona and worked as an admissions clerk at the Maricopa County Hospital in Phoenix. She then moved to Iowa to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Bonnie enjoyed gardening, crocheting, knitting, sewing, playing cards and watching baseball and basketball with family. She was a member of the Westernaires Square Dance Club and a 4-H leader in Hastings, NE.

Bonnie is survived by her son, Brett (Heather) Mohling of Glenvil, NE; daughter, Tanya (Jeff) Mauk of Grimes, IA; brothers, Dale Wicke, Hank Wicke, Don Wicke, Lloyd Wicke; and sister, Nola Musser; five grandchildren, Tia, Kylie and Ashlyn Mohling, and Kade and Dayne Mauk. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Harold Wicke.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 – 4 p.m. Friday at the Kennybrook Village Chapel where a Celebration of Life service will be held at 4 p.m. Graveside services will be held at a later date in Wauneta, NE where Bonnie will be laid to rest.

Memorial contributions may be made the Epilepsy Foundation or the American Liver Foundation. Online condolences will be welcomed at IlesCares.com.

Bonnie was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend and will be dearly missed. The family gives their greatest gratitude to those who cared for Bonnie in the past months.
