Obituary

Bradley Donavan Wikstrom, 65, passed away August 3, 2024, in Urbandale, IA. He was born May 10, 1959, in Minneapolis, MN to Donovan Carl and Loretta Jane (Wermerskirchen) Wikstrom.

Bradley grew up loving living, traveling, and exploring new worlds as a military child. His stories of the Philippines never ended and only sometimes got old.

He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors. Hunting, morel mushroom hunting, and fishing kept him busy year-round. During the summers he could be found digging in the dirt cultivating large gardens and babying his tomato plants as his own children. If there was a smell of charcoal in the air, Brad was usually behind the grill fixing up some tasty meat treats. In his final years, he and his best friend, Fabio, could be found getting into whatever trouble two bachelors could find together.

Bradley worked at International Paper/Weyerhaeuser (UAW Local 1024) as a machine operator in Cedar Rapids, Ia. for his entire career, his 35+ years of dedicated service was one of his biggest honors.

Bradley is survived by his mother Loretta; son, Ryan (Dani) Wikstrom; daughter, Jami (Ryan) Myers; siblings, Brock Wikstrom and Kendra (Ralph) Rubino; and grandchildren Kenson, Brantley, and Wren.

He is preceded in death by his father, Don (2017) and his wife of 34 years, Bonnie Moore (2019).

Private family burial will take place later this fall in the family cemetery in Strandquist, Minnesota
