Bruce Carl Snyder, 92, passed away December 1, 2011, on the family farm where he was born and lived all his life. His family farm had been designated a Heritage Farm having been in his family for over 150 years. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Waukee Christian Church followed by burial at Waukee Cemetery in Waukee.

Bruce was born on August 5, 1919 to J.A. and Bertha (Dowler) Snyder. He attended Waukee School, and was honored with a diploma from Waukee High School in 2009. Bruce married Dorothy Irene Burger in November 18, 1939. After serving overseas in the Army Air Corp during World War II, Bruce and Dorothy farmed and built the Timberline Ranch Campground near Waukee, where they raised two children, Larry and Sharon. Bruce also drove a school bus for many years and in 1958 joined with a few men to start the Zoning Board for Dallas County. He was an active member of the Maple Grove Methodist Church and Masons for most of his life. After his wife's passing, Bruce married Mary Kay Burger and transferred to St. Boniface Catholic Church and was a member of Knights of Columbus.
