Bruce Huisman Obituary

Bruce Huisman, 58, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at home. Funeral services will be held 2 pm Monday at Iles Funeral Homes-Westover Chapel where the family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm. The body will be cremated following services and the cremated remains will be scattered at Moose Lake in the Boundary Water Canoe Area.

Bruce was born in Dexter, lived in Pella and Westside prior to moving to the Des Moines area in 1971.
He was an accountant at Guide One (formerly Preferred Risk) Insurance Company in West Des Moines. Bruce enjoyed coaching soccer, fishing and following Iowa State athletics.

Bruce is survived by his daughter, Angie (Jack) Thomas of Columbus, OH, grandson, Jackson Thomas, his mother, Ruth Huisman of Westside, Iowa, brother Terry (Sandy) Huisman of West Des Moines and his former wife Gail Huisman of West Des Moines.

Memorial contributions may be made to Iowa Lutheran Hospital Mental Health Unit.
