Obituary

On May 22, cradled in the arms of her loving family, Carol Taggart peacefully left this life.

Carol was born in Elgin, Illinois in 1946. She had degrees from Coe College and Syracuse University. Carol was active in many civic organizations including Chapter V, PEO, Symphony Guild, Junior League, West Des Moines Library Friends Foundation and numerous choirs.

Carol dedicated the bulk of her working career to the development of the Instructional Material Center at the Learning Resource Center at the WDM public schools which she opened and built into one of the premier teacher resource centers in the country. She loved her job of serving and working with teachers, kids and all who used the center.

The central focus of Carol's life was her family. Her greatest joy was being a stay at home mom for her kids and making the happiest home any family ever had.

Carol often said she simply wanted to be remembered as a nice person. Her humor, kindness and selflessness will always be a light to all who knew her.

She is survived by her Husband of 40 years Pete, Daughter Libby and Son Colin.

Her one regret in life was not seeing her beloved Cubs win the World Series.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Carol Taggart Memorial Fund 3204 Jordan Grove, WDM, IA, 50265

The family will receive friends at Dunn's on Grand from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday May 27. Services will be Wednesday, May 28, at 12 p.m. noon at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 900 Warrior Lane in Waukee.
