Obituary

Carol Yvonne Long, 74 passed through the gates of heaven where she was greeted by her son David on July 18, 2011. She was born on January 7, 1937, to Eldon and Julia Boone in Madrid, Iowa. Carol married the love of her life, Jack on October 2, 1954. Their marriage was blessed with seven children: Laurie Ann Rieck, Michael Allen Long, John Eugene Long, David Bryce Long, Alan Wayne Long, Melanie Jane Fisher and Scott Nelson Long.

Carol loved life and loved her family. Her dedication was shown in many ways including taking care of her son David for 21 years. She loved playing Bingo and the social aspect that went along with the game. Some of her other hobbies included, reading, crocheting, cross-stitching quilts (for all the grandchildren), looking for garage sales and occasionally going to Prairie Meadows. Carol also loved her flowers and had them planted all over her yard. She enjoyed her friends and family and was always trying to help everyone in every way possible. She will be severely missed!

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, and son David. She is survived by her loving husband, Jack and children Laurie Ann Rieck (Mike), Michael Allen Long (Carla), John Eugene Long, Alan Wayne Long (Tammy), Melanie Jane Fisher (Bill) and Scott Nelson Long. She is also survived by sisters Julia Burke, Merris McIntosh, Diane Walmsley and brothers Bill Boone, Eldon Boone, Jr. and Dan Boone, as well as 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
