Carole Jean Wooldridge passed away December 3, 2007 at Scottish Rite Park. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday December 8 at St. John's Lutheran Church. Entombment will follow at Masonic Cemetery.

Carole Wooldridge was born in Thompson, IA, October 21, 1914 to parents Mary and Eddie Ellefson. Preceeding her in death was her beloved brother, Marion, and her life -long love, traveling companion, and bridge, fishing and dancing partner, Richard (Dick) Wooldridge. Surviving Carole are her two sisters, Opal Kitner (daughter Marilyn) and Mildred Perry of Forest City, IA; her daughter, Deanna Sharp of Menominee, MI; grandson, Thomas of San Carlos, CA; granddaughter, Rebecca of Mizzoula, MT; granddaughter-in-law, Molly and great-granddaughters, Sophia, and Sylviadee Sharp.

Growing up in a northern Iowa farming community, Carole learned to value hard, honest work cultivated on the currently owned family farm in Thompson, IA. Carole also taught briefly in an all grades country school near the farm. She developed a life long appreciation for her Norwegian heritage, experienced and heightened through travels in Norway and Europe with her husband, daughter, and friends.

Carole is well remembered in Des Moines as an active, productive, and successful real estate broker as well as an involved member of St. John's Lutheran Church.

Her leisure time loves were spent enjoying family gatherings with lots of cooking, playing bridge at the local Bridge House, summer vacations at Clear Lake, IA, visiting her daughter and grandchildren, road trips here and abroad with her favorite traveling partner, husband, Dick.

Carole will be deeply missed by her family, close friends, staff at Scottish Rite Park, church, and the many people she helped to find "just the right home" here in Des Moines.

We celebrate her life and her passing to a greater happiness with these memories of a cherished, classy, and loving lady.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at St. John's Lutheran Church.
