Christopher Anthony Middaugh, 53, died December 10th at the Bright Kavanagh House in Des Moines from lung cancer.

Chris was born January 28, 1956 at the Independence Sanitarium and Hospital in Independence, Missouri. He lived in the Kansas City area for 38 years, working as a supervisor for QuikTrip and as a franchisee of the Pizza Inn restaurant in Lee's Summit. In 1994, Chris moved to Iowa and became the owner of Christopher's Pizza and Bowl in Dallas Center. Chris enjoyed record collecting, golf, bowling, yard work, and playing with his grandson.

Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Norville Clifford and Mary Louise Middaugh, and sister, Carolynn Kay Middaugh. He is survived by two sons, Clinton of Iowa City, IA, and Brent of Daniel Island, SC. He is survived by a daughter, Megan Pulczinski, her husband, Joe, and grandson Anthony of Colfax, IA. He is survived by former wife, Jody, of Garden City, MO.

He is also survived by his sister, Eloise, and her husband, Cla, of Kansas City, MO, as well as nieces Alisa Quest, of Raymore, MO, Shara Brice of England and several great nieces and nephews. For the past several years, Chris enjoyed the companionship of Jean Norwood.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 14th, from 5pm-8pm at the Brandt Funeral home in Dallas Center, Iowa. The graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 16th, at 2pm at the Urich Cemetery, Urich, Missouri. A reception will follow the graveside funeral service. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Hospice of Central Iowa. Donations will also be accepted at Brandt Funeral Home.
