Christopher "Chris" J. Jermier, 38, passed away suddenly on Thursday, June 4, 2015 from injuries sustained in an auto accident near Grimes, IA. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, June 8, 2015, in the gymnasium at Dallas Center – Grimes High School on Highway 44, west of Grimes. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at the high school. Burial will follow at Sunny Hill Cemetery in Grimes followed by a dessert bar at the high school to share memories of Chris with his family and friends.

Chris was born on July 16, 1976 in Austin, MN to David L. and Brenda L. (Little) Jermier. He was a 1995 graduate of Dallas Center – Grimes High School where he was a four-season athlete and a National Honor Society member. Chris was a 1999 graduate of Simpson College in Indianola, where he participated in football and baseball. At Simpson, he earned his bachelor's degree in accounting and then went on to earn his CPA designation. On July 10, 1999, Chris was united in marriage to Cali Rachelle Helps in the Smith Chapel at Simpson College, and to this union, three children were born.

He started his career as an auditor for DeLoitte and Touche. After that, he spent several months working for Wells Fargo before he found his dream job. For nearly 14 years, Chris was employed as Vice-President of Finance with Jacobson Companies (Norbert Dentressangle) where he was instrumental in growing the company into a world-wide corporation.

Chris was a proud advocate for the City of Grimes, which he loved. Chris was a supporter and member of DCG Booster Club, and a board member of Youth Homes of Mid-America. He was also a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Grimes. Chris had a passion for teaching and coaching children in various sports in the community. His dream of helping children showed through those he mentored today. He was in the process of building a youth sports academy to continue to mentor and coach kids into the future. Chris loved watching and coaching his children in sports – soccer, basketball, football, baseball, and he enjoyed horseback riding and gymnastics with his daughters. In his free time, Chris enjoyed traveling with his wife and children making memories. Above all, he was a loving, caring and devoted husband, dad, son, grandson, brother, uncle and friend. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 15 years, Cali Jermier of Grimes; son, Bryce Jermier; two daughters, Ellie and Macey Jermier; parents, David and Brenda Jermier of Dallas Center; father-in-law and mother-in-law Randy and Barb Helps of Grimes; paternal grandparents, James and Bonnie Jermier of Dallas Center; grandmother-in-law Charlotte Ring of Mason City; brother, Matthew (Katie) Jermier of Waukee; sister, Julie (Chris) Watson of Littleton, CO; brother-in-law, Chris (Eva) Helps of Dallas Center; seven nephews, Kale and Madden Jermier, Tyson, Jalen and Quentin Watson, and Easton and Colby Helps; and a host of extended family members including aunts, uncles, cousins and a multitude of friends.
