Connie (Negrete) Swanson was born in Williams, Iowa to Simon and Angelina (Hernandez) Negrete. She grew up in Belmond, Iowa. After graduating from high school in Belmond, she moved to Des Moines and worked at Look magazine. She married Cecil S. Swanson, Sr. on December 16, 1961. Connie was a homemaker and devoted mother and grandmother. Never one to lounge, she always worked hard and gave of herself and was particularly devoted to the wellbeing of her family. Connie was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic church and enjoyed reading about her Catholic faith.
