Danny Ferguson Obituary

Danny Ferguson, 78, of West Des Moines, Iowa passed away at Iowa Methodist Medical Center on January 21, 2025. A visitation will be held at Iles Dunn’s Chapel on Thursday January 23, 2025 from 5:00-7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025 beginning at 10:00 AM at Iles Dunn’s Chapel. Interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery. Danny Edward Ferguson was born on May 11, 1946 to Ira and Retta Bernice Ferguson in Creston, Iowa. He graduated from Mt. Ayr High School and attended Graceland University earning his Associate’s Degree. He met the love of his life, Mary Avaline Rush, and they were married on December 23, 1964. Together they made their home in Des Moines, while he started to make a living working at SuperValue. There were many other places and people he worked for, but there was nothing quite like John Deere. He was a busy body, and often found golf as a way to enjoy himself and the company of friends and family. Anyone who knew him knew that he was different. His heart was pure and truly like no other. His legacy of traits passed down to the ones he loved.

Danny is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Ferguson, daughter, Danee Ferguson, son, Darin Ferguson, grandchildren, Maddie, Joseph, Macy, Camri, Drake, and Bronson. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Retta Bernice Ferguson.
