Deb Bouma Obituary

Deborah Ann Bouma, 72, of Norwalk, Iowa, passed away peacefully May 24, 2025. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Iles Norwalk Chapel, 1020 Main Street, Norwalk.

Deb was born October 15, 1952 in Dubuque, Iowa. She graduated from Delmar High School, Delmar Iowa and Capri Cosmetology School in Dubuque. She worked as a beautician. In 1987, moved to Norwalk where she opened her own salon for several years. She continued her career at On Location in Des Moines until medical complications forced her into early retirement.

Deb was an avid Chicago Bears fan. She enjoyed reading, puzzles and watching Big Brother. She was never far from a cup of coffee (two sugars) or a room temperature bottle of coke. She loved Christmas Eve surrounded by her family, trips to Dubuque to see her brothers and catching up with her friends eating dinner at Village Inn.

Deb was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Anna Mae (McGrath) Hoist; her brothers, Gary Duccini and Albert Hoist, Jr. She is survived by her three sons, Jamie (Angie) Heim, Tony (Stephanie) Heim and Brian (Jessica) Heim; eight grandchildren, Lexie and Reese Heim, Sabrina (Justin) Lehman, Avery Heim, Payton Bitting and Clint Bitting and Samantha Heim, and Hayley Sever; four great grandchildren; her brother, John (Becky) Hoist; and her nephew, Jeremy (Amanda) Duccini.
