Dennis Bowers Obituary

Dennis Wayne Bowers (Bowie) was born on October 17th 1954, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines Iowa to Charles & Edna Bowers (Fees).

He lost his battle with cancer on April 21st 2025, at the VA Hospital in Des Moines Iowa.

Denny lived in Madrid & attended Madrid Community School. In 1972 he joined the United States Army & was stationed in Key West Florida where he was a member of a missile defense unit. He was honorably discharged in 1974. He then returned to Iowa.

Denny loved cars & motorcycles and enjoyed working on them. He could tell you the year, make & model of most cars by the age of 6 years old.

Denny was a "dog person" & had many throughout his life. You would often see his "fur buddies" cruising around town with him in his car.

He is survived by his son Jason Bowers, granddaughters Sydney, Brenna & Lucy Bowers & many nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charles & Edna, sister Leola Bowers & brothers Robert, George, Charles, Dale & Kenneth.

Rest in peace Denny. Until we meet again, we love you & will miss you.

A Celebration of Life for family & friends will be held on May 18th 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00 at the VFW in Madrid. There will be a private family burial at Fairview Cemetery in Madrid.
