Diana Carroll Obituary

Diana (Dee) Lee Carroll, 71, passed away December 27th, 2023, at MercyOne Medical Center, in Des Moines, Iowa.

Dee was born January 9th, 1952, to Harold and Nadine Johnson. She grew up in Derby, Iowa and graduated from Mormon Trail High School in 1970. On July 4th, 1997, Diana and her husband James (Jim) got married. They have been married for 26 great years. Throughout her professional life Dee was an administrative assistant at Smith Barney finance. She went on to retire in 2007. After retirement, Dee enjoyed living the farm life and spending time with her grandkids and husband very much. She had a great love for all animals but most of all her horses. Dee enjoyed horseback riding and letting her grandkids take turns riding them. She loved going out dancing with her husband and friends whenever they got the chance. She also loved going to the Iowa State Fair with her husband and seeing all of the things the fair had to offer.

Diana is survived by her loving husband, James Carroll. Step children; Jackie (Marty) Pray, Steve (Noelle) Carroll, Chris Flanery, and Phil Carroll. Mother; Nadine Johnson, brother; Rex (Debbie) Johnson, and sister; Valerie (Carrie) Powell. Grandchildren; Emma, PJ, Will, Sydney, Ashley, and Tori. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, Harold Johnson.

Services will be held on January 5th, 2024. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, at Iles Funeral Home-Brandt in Dallas Center; 1301 Ash Street. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 pm. Burial will be held at a later date.
