Dollie Koon, 94, went home to be with the Lord, on June 8, 2012, early in the evening. She is now dancing on the streets of gold and rejoicing with her loved ones gone before her!

Dollie was born Dollie Faye Wishman to John and Luella Wishman , and grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, until, at the age of 16, she married William Koon. They lived in Baxter and had many fun adventures along with some of William's family. Eventually they settled in Newton, Iowa, where they had three girls and built their home. Dollie was a homemaker most of here life, but did work as a cook in a restaurant in Newton for a few years. In the early 50's they came back to Des Moines where dad went to the Open Bible College to become a minister. After he graduated, they ministered at a small church in Vinton, Iowa, and then went on to Pennsylvania to minister in a church under the supervision of Uncle Warren Koon. From there they ministered in Zanesville, Ohio, before returning to Des Moines for the remainder of their ministry in a church on E. 35th Street. In 1960 the Koon family was blessed with a fourth daughter, named Connie. They remained active and busy until 1980 when Dollie's husband of 46 years passed on.

Dollie's daughters were Joanne Lester, Phyllis Wright, Patty Rigby, and Connie Simmons. In 2008 Patty and her daughter, Michele, both passed on. Joanne, Phyllis, and Connie remain.

Dollie's daughters produced 11 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren.

Dollie remained active in mind and body and had a rich, full life. She cherished her family and stayed in contact with them all her life. She loved Jesus with all her heart and always testified to others of his saving and healing power. She will be missed by all.
