Douglas Ridout Obituary

Douglas Ridout, 82, of Ankeny, Iowa passed away on January 22, 2025. Funeral Services will be held at Iles Grandview Park Chapel on Monday, January 27, 2025 beginning at 10:00 AM with a visitation the hour prior from 9:00-10:00 AM. Burial will follow immediately after at Laurel Hill Cemetery.

Douglas was born December 11, 1942 to Dale and Ruth Ridout in Creston, Iowa. Douglas worked for IBEW as a lineman and heavy equipment operator. He was also a member of AMVETS Post 2 and the VFW in Ankeny. Douglas was an avid gardner, he loved to grow tomatoes, cucumbers, cabbage, green beans, and onions. He liked to scoot around on his electric scooter to get out and about.

Douglas is survived by his significant other, Sherry Berry and her family; daughters, Laura Ridout (Dan Thompson) and Kathy (Laurie) Bulman; son, Douglas Ridout Jr.; brothers, Gary and Robert Ridout, and other loving family members. He is preceded in death by his wife of 28 years, Terry Ridout; parents; and siblings, Jackie Exline and Richard Ridout.
