Obituary

Douglas W. Stange, 56, died June 5, 2003 at home. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, with a private family burial planned.

Douglas was born in Niagara Falls, NY, and lived in the Des Moines area for the past eight years. He served in the U.S. Airforce during Vietnam and worked as a transportation manager for Electric Pump. He was an EMT for the volunteer fire company in North Tonawanda, NY, and a member of the NY Fire Chiefs Association. Douglas was a faithful member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and served on the Mission Board.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Stange; two daughters, Susan and Katie Stange; granddaughter, Beanna Guenther; sister, Norma Wallace and her husband Ed; brother-in-law, Dick Miller; six nephews and one niece; as well as great-nieces and nephews and many friends.

Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Westover Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church Organ Fund or Mt. Olive Church and Building Fund.
