Edna Mae Rieck, 85, passed away on July 19, 2006 at the Madrid Home in Madrid, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday at St. John’s Lutheran Church with burial following at Fairview Cemetery.

Edna was born May 2, 1921 the daughter of Archie and Effie (Winters) McIntosh. She was a homemaker and enjoyed being with her family. Edna was a member of the Friendly Neighbor Club and St. John’s Church.

She is survived by her sons, Roger (Donna) Rieck of Spirit Lake and Mike (Laurie) Rieck of Madrid; daughters, Verdeen (Gary) Knox of Eldora, Linda (Jerry Meling) Ward of Gilman, Nancy (LaVern) Houseman of Boone, Barbara Anderson of Kellogg, and Jana (Bob) Ranieri of Madrid; sister, Nova Degelau of Fort Dodge; step sister, Ilene Kohlmeyer of Unionville, MO; seventeen grandchildren; thirty three great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death her husband, Lorenz; one son; five brothers; three step brothers; and two grandsons.

A visitation with the family present will be held from 4 to 7 pm on Friday at the Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Madrid. Memorial contributions may be given to either the Madrid Home or St. John’s Lutheran Church.
