Edna Viola Bohy, 90, of Windsor Heights, Iowa, formerly of Clarion, passed from this life on Sunday, January 30, 2005, at the Kavanagh House in Des Moines. According to Mrs. Bohy’s wishes, the body has been cremated and there will be no visitation. A memorial graveside service honoring Edna’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 3, at the French Church Cemetery in Woolstock, Iowa.

Edna was born the daughter of John Thomas and Lydia (Kastler) Claude on July 20, 1914, in Wright County, Iowa. On August 13, 1938, she married Charles A. Bohy in Webster City, Iowa. They made their home in Clarion. In 2001, Edna moved to Windsor Heights to be closer to her family. Edna was formerly employed with the Wright County Hospital for several years until her retirement. She was also a homemaker.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Marilyn Finnell and her husband, Thomas, of Windsor Heights, and Barbara Hoffman of Des Moines; one granddaughter, Deanna Ziino and her husband, Mark, of Indianola, Iowa; two grandsons, Brian Hoffman of Des Moines and Jeff Hoffman and his wife, Karen, of Panora, Iowa; 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Vera Claude, Esther Johnson and Mabel Bohy all of Eagle Grove, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews. Edna was preceded into eternal life by her parents, her husband, Charles, on August 29, 1994, one sister, four brothers, several nieces and nephews, and one grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, the family has respectfully requested that any memorial contributions be made to either the French Church in Woolstock, Iowa or Kavanagh House in Des Moines.
