Obituary

Elizabeth Jane Bell Welder, 98, died January 9, 2019 at the Madrid Home, Madrid, Iowa.

Elizabeth was born May 30, 1920 in Dallas, Iowa to Frank and Laura (Lincoln) Bell. Her parents died from tuberculosis when she was age 2 and 5. She was raised by grandparents William and Elizabeth (Lawson) Lincoln. She married Clifford Welder August 12, 1939. They were blessed with one daughter.

Elizabeth was known for her strong Christian faith and was always active in the church. She loved singing and playing hymns on the piano, cooking delicious meals, baking and decorating birthday and wedding cakes and created perfectly stitched quilts. She loved spending time with family.

She is survived by her daughter Karen (Paul) Bollie, grandchildren Bret, Bart and Brigitte Bollie, all of Madrid, great grandchildren Alicia (Ross) Mclnteer, Des Moines, Angela (Russell) Myers, Teah, Jessie and Courtney Bollie, Nicholas Snider, Sarah (Richard) Carr, great great grandchildren, Ava Blattel, Jude and Penny Carr, McKenna Wickett, all of Madrid, Olivia Mclnteer, Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, husband of 49 years, Clifford and her brother, Frank.

A special thank you to Pastor Todd Bunge and Pastor Marshall Felderman, the staff at the Madrid Home, Suncrest Hospice and longtime childhood friend Toad White.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. at lles- Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Funeral Home, Madrid, Iowa. A visitation and luncheon will follow the service at the VFW.
