Obituary

Emmabell Florence Nash Ramsey, 78, of Dallas Center, Iowa went to be with

the Lord on Wednesday, February 4, 2009, while at Bright Kavanagh House.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 7, 2009, at the Brandt Funeral Home in Dallas Center. Family will receive friends following the service at a luncheon at Memorial Hall. There will be a private family interment in Liberty Center, Iowa.

Emmabell was born in Albia, Iowa on September 23, 1930 to Harry and Helen Nash, and married Donald Lee Ramsey in 1953. Emma was always active in the various churches she attended. She continued a puppet ministry and teaching Sunday school even in her later years. Emma enjoyed attending Bible study with fellow residence at her home in Amy Gene Acres. She was proud to carry on a tradition of hand made noodles and homemade rolls. She had a passion for animals as well as people. Emma raised and groomed poodles; tended her garden; and was always caring for her family and others. Her life was an example of unconditional love, integrity, honesty and humble compassion.

Emmabell is survived by her husband, Don Ramsey, and four children: Rayma Jean Dinnen of Fox Lake, IL; Phil (Chris) Ramsey of Dakota Dunes, SD; Paul (Brenda) Ramsey of Des Moines; and Deb Ramsey (Carl Clausen) of Albion, IA.

Emma is also survived by two brothers, Fred (Betty) Nash of Winnemucca, NV and Donald Coady of Newton, IA. She was blessed with eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Emma was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Harry Jr. and an infant son, David.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Dallas Center Community Church.
