Etta C. Rosenblatt, 89, formerly of Des Moines, died Monday, December 26, 2005, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha. Graveside services will be 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2005, at Jewish Glendale Cemetery.

Etta was born the daughter of Fannie (Tatelman) and Harry Camel on July 15, 1916 in Omaha, where she was raised. In the 1950’s, Etta moved to Des Moines, where she lived until 2003 when she returned to Omaha. Etta was a member of Tifereth Israel Synagogue in Des Moines, the Tifereth Israel Women’s League and managed the gift shop at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines.

Etta was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Maxwell Rosenblatt in 1987.

She is survived by her sons, Gerald (Sue) Rosenblatt of Omaha and Michael (Marcia) Rosenblatt of Burlington, IA; five grandchildren, Martin (Rosa) Rosenblatt of Albuquerque, NM, Jason Rosenblatt of Chicago, IL and Geoffrey Rosenblatt of San Francisco, CA, Ryan (Beth) Huddleston of Austin, TX and Amy (Dale) Burch of Lincoln, NE; two great-grandchildren, Zachary and Connor; sister, Dorothy (Sol) Yaffe of Omaha; and brother, Dr. Marvin (Greta) Camel of St. Louis, MO.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Tifereth Israel Synagogue or a charity of the donor’s choice.
