George Jones, III Obituary

George Colton Jones III, loved dearly by his wife Debra, has passed away peacefully at his home. Today the world is missing a brilliant man.
Born to George and Wanda (Mendenhall) Jones on September 22nd, 1950, in Des Moines, Iowa, he was the youngest of 12 children. George graduated from Tech High School in 1969. That same year he married the love of his life, Debra and together they raised two children, Mark and Mellissa.
George was a welder for Massey Ferguson until the plant left Des Moines. He then became a business owner for 42 years. He enjoyed everything in life. Some of his favorite activities included boating, relaxing and playing cards with friends, water skiing at the lake, snow skiing, golfing, riding his Harley, reading, and scuba diving while vacationing in Mexico.
George will be remembered and honored by those he loved and adored, including his wife of 54 years Debra, his son Mark, his daughter Mellissa (David) Kohler, his 5 grandchildren, Chase, Alia, Amanda, Emily, and Gabriel, 3 great-grandchildren, Ryder, Landon, and Jaxon, and his best friend and walking partner Shiloh, as well as the many other friends he made throughout his life. Siblings left to cherish his memory are Jacque (Greg) Harwood, Rick (Shelly) Jones, Kaye (John) Rowat, and Danny Jones.
Final goodbyes were said, and it was his wish to be cremated.
A celebration of George’s life and legacy will take place at a later date, where friends and family can share pictures, their favorite memories, and the “Good Times” spent with George through the years!
