Gerhart Mueller Obituary

Gerhart Ronald Mueller, 89, Des Moines, Iowa, died at his home surrounded by his family on Friday, September 16, 2022. Gerhart was born March 25, 1933 in Des Moines to Max Wilhelm & Marie Elizabeth (Mueller) Mueller. He grew up and was educated in the Des Moines area.

Gerhart was in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After returning to his home he was a book binder for Meredith/RR Donnelley Publishing from 1955 to 1993 when he retired. He enjoyed connecting with all of his family for all occasions, big or small.

Gerhart enjoyed watching college basketball and football. Yes, of course he was an Iowa Hawkeye fan. Hobbies included collecting classic die cast automobiles and spinning his exercise bike to stay in shape. He lived a full, healthy, and enjoyable life.

Survivors include daughters, Karla Kamerling, Des Moines, & Lesa (Danny) Gallagher, Des Moines, grand daughter, Ashley Romine, Des Moines, and great grandchildren, Sondra, Chloe, & Blake. He was preceded in death by his parents and the love of his life, Virginia Rucker.

Private family services will be held at Iles Grandview Park Chapel and Iowa Veterans Cemetery.
