Harry Paul Volkamer, 93, of Urbandale, Iowa passed away November 15, 2023.

Harry was born on January 27, 1930, to Fred and Gladys Volkamer in Des Moines, Iowa.

Harry married Lucille McCombs on June 6, 1956, and they were blessed with three children, David, Laurie and Stephen and one granddaughter, Allison Saunders. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by those who were fortunate to know him.

He began his career in metallurgy at Solar Aircraft from 1953 to 1956, which led to his 35 years of employment with Steel Treating, a division of Delavan, where he was General Manager.

Harry joined the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in 1959 and trusted in God’s loving care for him. He served the church as a Deacon and an Elder.

For 53 years he taught children about Jesus and God’s love. This was a source of great joy for him and he loved the children and they loved him.
