Harvey Lamb Obituary

Harvey James Lamb, 76, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at the Good Samaritan Home in Indianola, IA. He was born January 24, 1948, in Iowa City, IA to Orval and Mary (Miller) Lamb.

After graduating high school, he joined the United States Marine Corp. He met and married Wanda Jean Chapman on August 10, 1968. To that union three daughters were born. Harvey loved to cook and was a chef at several local restaurants, including the Younkers Tea Room. He also liked to fish, reading, spending time with family, coloring, eating banana muffins, drinking Diet Coke, and 7Up, watching old western movies and shows. He loved going to the movies with Wanda, loved Wanda’s cooking, watching his grandkids grow up and spending time with his dog, Kai.

Harvey is survived by his loving wife, Wanda; daughters, Mary K Lathrop, Jennifer L. Hesse, Elizabeth (Brad) Ganoe; grandchildren, Kristian Matthew Lamb, Austin James Hesse, Madeline Jean Lamb, and Shelby Lynn Hesse. He is preceded in death by his parents, Orval and Mary Lamb; brother Sam Lamb, Sister, Vale; and son in law, Tim Hesse.

Military Funeral Honors will be conducted by the United States Marine Corp at 2 PM on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel, IA.
