Obituary

Helen B. Gribble, 99, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2009 at Iowa Jewish Senior Life Center in Des Moines, where she lived for the past ten years. Graveside services were held at Logan Park Cemetery in Sioux City, Iowa.

Helen was born to John and Susan Bauer in Friend, Nebraska on August 6, 1909. She married Robert Horner in November of 1930 in Friend, Nebraska and later married James Gribble on December 19, 1949. He died in October of 1975.

She was employed by the telephone company for over 25 years and was a member of the Kan-Due Ettes Telephone Pioneers. Helen was a member of the Sioux City Women's Club and past board member. She was also a six year member of the board of the New Hope Center, a member of the Daughters of the Nile, as well as a 35 year member of Crescent Park United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Robert (Sheri) Horner of West Des Moines, Iowa; two step-children, Rita Bruneau of Omaha, Nebraska and Karen Towns of Onterio, Oregon and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
