Helen O'Leary Struck, 94, a resident of Bishop Drumm, passed away at Mercy Hospice in Johnston on November 14, 2005. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 17 at St. Augustin Catholic Church in Des Moines, with burial 11 a.m. Friday at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Waterloo, Iowa.

Helen was born January 28, 1911 in Waterloo, Iowa the daughter of Timothy and Florence O'Leary. She moved to Des Moines from Waterloo in 1965. She was a homemaker, a member of St. Augustin Catholic Church and of the Catholic Daughters since 1944. Everyone will miss her jokes and her wonderful smile.

Helen is survived by her daughters, Marlys Van Hauen of Urbandale, Iowa and Ila Dineen of Woodbridge, Connecticut; eleven grandchildren: Tim Struck, Mike Struck, Carrie Struck, Dan Struck, Kathy Koons, Sue Richards, Ann O'Neill, Dave Van Hauen, Ellen Rued, John Dineen and Andrew Dineen; and eighteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Timothy and Florence O'Leary; husband, Fred Struck and son, Jerry Struck.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 16 at Westover Funeral Home with a Vigil Service at 6 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to Bishop Drumm or Mercy Hospice.
