Hope Brommel Obituary

Hope Marie Brommel, 17, passed away peacefully at home on February 11, 2025, following a four-year courageous battle with Ewing’s Sarcoma. A visitation for family and friends will be from 9-11am, Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Iles Westover Chapel, 6337 Hickman Road, Des Moines. A service will follow beginning at 11am.

Hope was born on July 30, 2007 in Des Moines to parents, Brad and Tiffannie Brommel. She attended Samuelson Elementary School, Meredith Middle School, Central Academy and was currently a senior at Hoover High School.

Hope loved listening to her 80’s and 90’s music, binge watching shows on her phone and loved being with her family. She played soccer from third through eighth grade and played flute from fifth through seventh grade. She excelled in her studies, taking advanced placement courses throughout high school and earned enough credits to graduate early. She was looking forward to attending Simpson College this fall.

Hope is survived by her parents, Brad and Tiffannie; two sisters, Emily and Hallie; grandparents, Jim and Joy Brommel and Jim and Janet Zimmerline; great grandma, Margaret Brommel; uncles, Jim (Brenda) Brommel and Jason Zimmerline; numerous cousins, great uncles and great aunts, friends and her cat, Millie and her dog, Leo. She was preceded in death by her great grandparents, Jim Brommel, Berle and Hope Robinson, Alwin and Mildred Zimmerline and John and Ina Kromrie.

The family would like to thank everyone for their support over the past four years and would like to thank the staff at Blank Children’s Hospital.
