Obituary

Hugh Knight was called home September 30, 2005 and America lost another hero. Mr. Knight was born to Flora DeMoss Knight and Harry Knight June 14, 1920 in Knoxville, Iowa. He joined the Marine Corps in 1940. In Honolulu, HI on December 7, 1941 he tended the wounded at the direction of Lt. Com. Nathan Saxell, M.D. and Lt. Frances Sonsella, R.N. Mr. Knight was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. A 32nd Degree Mason he belonged to both the York and Scottish Rites as well as being a member of AmVets and the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association.

Mr. Knight is survived by his wife Barbara Miller Knight, seven children, Stacey Knight, Todd Knight, Jody Knight, Laurie Moore, Danny Knight, Louis Knight and Phillip Knight, 19 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm Tuesday, October 4, 2005 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Waukee, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 3:00pm Monday at Brandt Funeral Home in Dallas Center where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00pm with a Masonic Service at 7 PM.
