Obituary

Isabelle Magdalena Finken-Hogan, 80, passed from this life on Sunday, May 23, 2010, at Wesley Acres in Des Moines.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 27, at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Des Moines, of which she was a member. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines.

Isabelle was born on April 24, 1930, in Defiance, IA, to Michael Marcus and Magdalena M. (Jacoby) Finken. In 1950, she moved to Des Moines, IA, where Isabelle made her home. She was an Underwriter with St. Paul Insurance Company for 14 years, then was employed at Iowa Medical Society for 22 years and in 1998, Isabelle retired after 10 years with the State of Iowa in the Polk County Treasurer's Office. In 2000, she married Howard Hogan in Des Moines.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by two sisters, Vivian Kuhr of Urbandale and Theresa (Theodore) Brazie of Nogal, NM; one brother, James Finken of Waukee; and a host of numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Isabelle was preceded into eternal life by her parents; seven sisters and brothers; and her husband, Howard in 2006.

The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 26, at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, where a parish scripture service will begin at 7 p.m.
