Jackie Harman, 43, died Sunday, July 11, 2004 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center following injuries sustained in an accident. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, July 15 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church.

Jackie was born in Emmetsburg, grew up in Ruthven and moved to Des Moines 19 years ago. She graduated from Ruthven High School and the University of Northern Iowa. Jackie was a CPA and currently a CFO at PDS. She had previously worked for KPMG-Pete Marwick Co. and was CFO for various area manufacturers.

Jackie was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and the Iowa Association of CPA's. She had been a past board member of Big Brothers & Big Sisters and was currently a controller for a ladies investment club. Jackie loved spending time with her children. She also enjoyed cooking, bicycling, snow skiing and water sports.

Jackie is survived by her husband, Brett Harman and children, Jake and Maddison Harman of Des Moines; stepson, Ben Harman of Des Moines; mother, Shirley Brown of Ruthven; seven siblings, Robert J. (Kathleen) Brown of Omaha, NE, Daniel R. (Jane) Brown of Kansas City, MO, Joan (Ralph) Stover of Ankeny, Jeanice (Mark) Finneagan of Sioux Falls, SD, Julie (Dave) Bright of New Hartford, IA, Jolene (Kim) Siemsglusz of Des Moines and Andrew B. (Ellie) Brown of Chicago, IL; parents- in-law, Dr. Larry and Ginger Harman of Kingsley; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert D. Brown.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and 5 to 7p.m. Wednesday at Dunn's Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church for their playground.
