Obituary

Jacqueline (Brown) Sturdivant Montony, 90, of Waukee, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 16th, 2023,

Jackie was born May 25th, 1932, in Des Moines, Iowa to Jack and Pearl Brown. Jackie grew up on her family’s farm in Madrid, Iowa. Jackie married Jack Edward Sturdivant on December 29th, 1951. They had four children, Niki, Jeff, Lisa, and Jana. Jackie’s husband, Jack, died in January 1997. Jackie married Donald Eugene Montony in December 1999; Don died January 2012.

Jackie was known for her strong faith in Jesus, extreme loyalty, and a lifetime dedication to good nutrition and daily exercise. She was an avid prayer warrior and supporter of God’s work throughout the world. Jackie had a passion for education and was a dedicated teacher to many elementary students,

Jackie is survived by her children Niki (James) Lawler, Jeff (Stacy) Sturdivant, Lisa Sturdivant and Jana (Greg) Lande and 12 grandchildren: Brandon, Dustin, Elizabeth, Kevin, Amy, Josh, Quinton, Michelle, Maddi, Chris, Jackie and Cecelia, as well as several great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Madrid, Iowa, with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 11:00 AM. Pastor Linton Lundeen from Valley Church in West Des Moines, will be officiating. Burial will 1:00 PM. at the Fairview Cemetery following a luncheon at the church.
