Jim Fink, 87, passed away on February 23, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Friday, February 26, 2010 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 1200 Warrior Lane in Waukee. Following the mass, there will be a luncheon and then burial at Beaver Catholic Cemetery in rural Granger.

Jim was born October 24, 1922 in Waukee. He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Upon receiving his honorable discharge in 1946 he held the rank of Corporal. Jim was a farmer, member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, American Legion Post 0464 and Knights of Columbus Council 9574. He was an avid reader, Iowa State and Notre Dame fan and most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Jim will be missed by sons, Stephen (Debbie) and Richard (Sheryl) both of West Des Moines; nine grandchildren, Michael, Jessica, Mark, Jennylee, Jennifer, Amanda, Kristel, Danielle and Samantha; six great-grandchildren; sister-in-laws, Leone Callan of Johnston and Mary Catherine Reed of Texas and many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Florence (Finnane) Fink and his wife, Agnes in 2009.

A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 PM at St. Boniface Catholic Church on Thursday evening with a Vigil at 7 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to his church or Dowling Catholic High School.
