James "Jim" Carroll Obituary

James J. Carroll, 81, passed away at his home in Woodward on December 11, 2024. Services will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Iles Brandt Chapel. A visitation will be held from 11:00am- 12:00 pm with a service to follow. Interment will be held at 3:00 pm at the Beaver Catholic Cemetery.

He was born on November 13, 1943 in Des Moines, Iowa to Edward and Theresa Carroll. Jim was proud to have lived on the same road in rural Woodward for 76 years- all but 5 years of his life. Jim was a very talented carpenter, he enjoyed doing cabinetry and trim work. Jim owned his own carpentry business for many years.

Jim loved coon hunting and assisted with the Madison County Coon Hunting competitions. Jim loved to dance at Lake Robbins Ballroom. Jim loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Jim is survived by his children, Jackie (Marty) Pray, Steve (Noelle) Carroll, Chris Flanery, and Phil Carroll; grandchildren, Emma, PJ, Will, Sydney, Ashley, and Tori; great grandson, Calvin; and siblings, John Carroll, and Colleen Zeller.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Kathleen L. (Aulich) Carroll; second wife, Diana “Dee” (Johnson) Carroll; parents; siblings, Kathleen (Gary)Edwards and Thomas (Debra) Carroll.
