Obituary

James Woodford Grimm, 79, passed away at his home on Tuesday morning, December 23, 2003. James was born on June 15, 1924 in Wildwood, NJ, the son of James and Emma Grimm. Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday at Grandview Park Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior. A military burial will be held immediately following the service at Keokuk National Cemetery.

James entered the military on March 18, 1943. He served in WWII and was honorably discharged on February 12, 1946. Jim worked for Rohman Haas Chemical Plant in Philadelphia after his discharge from the military. Most of James' life however, was spent as a police officer and private detective for the Philadelphia Police Department. On April 12, 1958, James married Ruth Almira Drautz in Wildwood, NJ. James retired from the City of Philadelphia in 1978 and moved to Cape Coral, FL, with Ruth in 1989 where they lived for 14 years. James and Ruth moved to Pleasant Hill in April 2003 to be near their only son, Carl Drautz and his family.

James is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ruth Almira Grimm; son, Carl Drautz and his wife Kim; grandsons, Austin and Ethan Narber; niece, Jo Ann Letton; sister-in-law, Angela Grimm; nephew, Warren Grimm, all of Florida; great-nieces, Karen, Susie and Trisha Letton; grandchildren, Jenny and Alan Hardey and Jason Drautz; and great-grandson, Michael Alan Hardey, all of Colorado.
