Jane Morgan Obituary

Jane Morgan, 77, of Johnston, died on February 21, 2022, of natural causes.

Jane was born in Ohio on July 11, 1944, to Thomas and Olive Godfrey and grew up in the Des Moines area. She graduated from St. John’s High School in 1962, and then from the Mercy School of Nursing in 1965. Jane married Ronald Morgan in 1968 and worked as a nurse for many years. She and Ron had three children -- Michael, Joseph, and Juliane.

After retiring from nursing Jane worked as a pastoral care minister and was active in her church as a lector and eucharistic minister. She enjoyed reading, crafting, sewing, and spending time with her family.

Jane is survived by her son, Joseph Morgan of Omaha, NE, her daughter, Juliane (Albert) Janek of Urbandale, her grandchildren, Katelyn (Reid) Allen, Michael Janek, Ryan Janek, and Nathan Janek, her sister, Mary Sue McGraw of West Des Moines, her brother, John Godfrey of San Jose, CA, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Morgan, her parents, Thomas and Olive Godfrey, her sister, Ruth Ann (Richard) Connell, her son, Michael Morgan, as well as other loved ones.

A mass of Catholic burial will be held at Holy Trinity Church on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at 10:00 am. Her cremains will be laid to rest in Glendale Cemetery immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Conception Abbey.
