Jeanne Anderson Obituary

Jeanne Marie Anderson, 64, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2017 at Taylor House Hospice. A memorial gathering will be held from 10-11am, Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Iles Westover Chapel, followed by a memorial service beginning at 11am.

Jeanne was born December 12, 1952 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Ellis “Mike” and Otley Burroughs. Her family moved to the Des Moines area in 1955. She was a graduate of Roosevelt High School and obtained her Associates Degree in Human Services from DMACC. Jeanne later received her certification in substance abuse counseling. She served her community for many years counseling individuals suffering with mental health and substance abuse issues.

Jeanne enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and never knew a stranger. To her family she was known as “Queen Jeanne”/“Diva Princess” and her grandsons, Aron and Cody, were her world, along with her fur grandbabies, Gus and Dharma.

Jeanne is survived by her children, Tim (Nichole) Anderson of Ankeny and Nicole Anderson of Des Moines; grandsons, Aron and Cody Anderson; and sister, Judy Bensley of Ankeny and her sons, Kelly and Josh Troster. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, John M. Burroughs.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to her family.
