Obituary

Funeral services for Jeaunette Ericsson Nall, 97 of Des Moines will be held at10:00 a.m. Friday at Windsor Presbyterian Church. Pastor Shamaine Chambers-King will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00p.m. Thursday at Westover Funeral Home.

Jeaunette passed from this life on February 2, 2015 at Scottish Rite Park Health Center.

On May 2, 1917, Jeaunette was born to Anders Conrad and Nellie Octavia (Nelson) Ericsson on a farm near Salem, South Dakota. She was the third of their five children; Florence, Blanche, Jeaunette, LaVerl, and Lester. When Jeaunette was two years old her family moved to Sioux City, Iowa where she grew up, attended school, graduated with honors, and started to work at Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. Her telephone company career lasted for over 40 years, during which time she worked in Sioux City, Des Moines, Council Bluffs, Omaha, and then back to Des Moines, retiring in 1982.

She was a member of Windsor Presbyterian Church, the Des Moines Women's Club, Telephone Pioneers, Beta Sigma Phi, PEO, Sons of Norway, and The Valley West Mall walking and coffee drinking group. Jeaunette was an active independent person who had a kind generous heart. She loved to travel with friends and always said that London was her favorite place to visit. She had been with the Friendship Force tour to Thailand and had also traveled to many other far places of the world, including Africa, Sweden, France, and other nations and continents.

Jeaunette was preceded in death by her beloved husband Tom, her parents, her siblings Florence Drillen, Blanche Shoning, LaVerl Ericsson, Lester Ericsson, in-laws Charles and Elsie Nall, Dorothy Hodges, Christine Gruenther and two nephews.

She is survived by her nephews and nieces, Bill (Bonnie) Shoning, Larry (Sandy) Ericsson, Kenny (Yolanda) Ericsson, Eric (Nilanga) Ericsson, Jerry (Becky) Ericsson, Art (Bev) Ericsson, Mark (Eunice) Ericsson, Janice (Ernie) Busack, Pat Ericsson, Valerie (John) Reynolds, Donna (Berry) Felder, Janice (Tim) Kinnison, Susan Huntley­ Gruenther, Christie and Barbara Hodges, and many extended family members. She loved them all deeply.

Memorial contributions may be directed to her church, to Des Moines Women's Club, or to Scottish Rite Park Good Brotherhood Fund.
